Hegau Tower

Singen’s landmark Hegau Tower revitalised

The family company UPWIND Holding has maintained office space in the tower since 2008. In addition to two-and-a-half floors already owned by the Group’s real estate business (UPWIND Holding), a further 12 of the total 17 floors were transferred to the company in the spring of 2018.

Since it was opened in 2008, the Hegau Tower designed by star architect Helmut Jahn who is also known for spectacular constructions such as the Sony Center in Berlin, has meant more to the Burkart family than simply the family company’s location. On the occasion of the tower’s 10th anniversary, Nikolai Burkart explains: “After the tower’s eventful history, the change of ownership heralds a new phase.”

“Even 10 years after completion, the Hegau Tower continues to shape the city of Singen: Its structure, economic development and its aesthetic.”

Award-winning building: Hegau Tower honoured with “10 Year Award”

In 2018, the Hegau Tower was honoured with the “10 Year Award “of the Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) Chicago. The award recognises completed tall buildings that have proved valuable to their cities and communities over a given period of time. According to Managing Director Laurent Burkart, the building offers a wealth of untapped potential, such as for cultural events or at an economic level, which should be exploited.

Development of real estate projects: creating sustainable added value

As with many other real estate projects, the Hegau Tower is an investment in the future, and is about developing or building on a network around the building that is designed to create sustainable added value. The Hegau Tower should maintain and the attractiveness of Singen for businesses in the long-term.
